I really wasn't planning on buying anything after I bought the C-17 last week, but I overlooked the CH-53 and decided that for less than $9 I needed to add this to the hangar, especially since its brother, the MH-53 Pave Low, is one of my favourite helicopters. The Sea Stallion flies just as good, has a nice co*ckpit and a real nice 'heavy' soundset.
At avsim.com I found a repaint pack by Pierre Lheureux which was made for Fs9 but works in FsX too if you add a texture.cfg to each tecture folder.
It may be an older model, but it is still nearly as good as their Sea King is IMHO. Great Deal!

Antonio Diaz also did some great repaints for the CH-53. Some were even the Pavelow textures with the J-box and radar alpha textured out so they would be transparent, but I could never get them to work in FSX. Bummer as it basically gave us a aux tanked C/D-model.
Yep, this is a fun helo.
I pass gas!

You have to love these , have both this and the Nemeth model , they really look mean and purposeful <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input jscode="leoInternalChangeDone()" onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();} else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">

I couldn`t resist and bought the Ka-50,Mil Mi-24,CH-53A,MH-53J,AH-64A Apache and the MH-60K BlackHawk and i love them all, espacially the heavy
Helis. The VC from the Pavelow is a bit outdated imho, but that`s really no problem.I love those sales.
Now i don`t know,what to fly first.

That's an impressive list Mike!
I've bought a few helicopters over the years; from Alphasim/Virtavia I have the AH-64D, Merlin, Seasprite, Pave low, Sea King and now the CH-53. I prefer these heavier types over the light helicopters. Much stabler and easier to fly. The Nemeth/Milviz Skycrane/Tarhe is another one I really like.

I wish there was a layered paint kit for this one.....the weathering is not as good as it could be. I have held off doing paints because of the lack of a layered paint kit.

Yes, I bought that during the previous sale, especially for the Belgian and German models. Slightly disappointed with all models having the same cabin interior but still great value.Originally Posted by big-mike

Ya...but if I remember correctly all the rivets were part of one of the weathering layers. I'd love to do a new overall gunship bird as the one they did seems too blotchy with the weathering and not enough drop shadows on things like rivets and panel lines.

Thanks for the HU on the Sale Price, I just purchased it today and I really enjoy this one. I had just deleted a previous post here about experiencing blackOriginally Posted by Ferry_vO

co*ckpit glass as the light bulb turned on and I copied one of the original texture files to the repaints and shazam!!!! I can see out of the windshield
or as the Brits say windscreen. OT I like to watch this show called Wheeler Dealers on Cable TV; it is a show done over in England and I get a kick out out
of listening to the two locals over there as they open the Boot of the car and replace the rubber that has "perished" around the windscreen. Sometimes they will
refer to there local currency and a Quid or Pound. Guess it is the same here with the buck and Dollar.Dave Torkington

Jeansy, could I ask where I might find the paint kit?
Cheers, Dave :salute:
*EDIT* Ignore me - found it on the Virtavia freeware site.
